Like I said before Nintendo is making this game in 3D because it is cashing in on Halo. It takes a great game like Halo, and inserts Samus Aran. Bingo, people will buy. And old school gamers aren't going to go down the game. They'll most likely buy the game regardless. Just as all the old school gamers bought the HORRID Nintendo 64 version of Castlevania, which was God-awlful I might add. If Metriod were a side scroller, it would sell, but it wouldn't sell a million copies.
See Dick you really don't understand. My assumption that people buy games because of pretty graphics, cinematics, and blowing shit up is not ludicrous. It's exactly right. Why do you think Mortal Kombat was accepted so well? Because it had great gameplay? Because each character had a total of two moves? No because it had fatalities.
