It's not cool to start a thread were you seriously want to discuss somethign and somebody pops in and fucks everything up. You can do that in a thread that is meant to be funny. Even in an condolences to queen mum thread but it is annoying to see useless spam bloating interesting topics.
Spam is ok ( I was the king of spammer baby! ) but there is a thin line between funny and annoying.
