What kind of barb?
For a tweaker, Arreats is a better choice if you use shaftstop. I tend to like shaft/arreats myself, but if you have a .08 valor that you don't mind perming, then use that and gaze.

As for boots, war traveler outshines imp shanks rather easily (except maybe if you want to specialize vs sorceresses). The 15-25 added damage becomes more like 200-300 after you factor in ed, and +20 stats means more life and more damage.
