I don't expect it to change, so I'm not really complaining about it. Just stating the facts. Obviously you're not comparing your "Balance" to anything but your own personal enjoyment for the game. Not everyone shares your opinion, nor mine, so I use old OSI as an example to why it's not balanced.
Fighters and mages are alternative versions of monster hunters. The balance is screwed because anyone programming server software (ex: RUNUO) always puts in how they would like UO to be. Not how UO was, or *IS*. Many spells are never used on most free servers, because of the reason listed above.
Why use summon pets when they are weak and most monsters have dispel? Why use summon animal when you can go from 50-70 magery in a few minutes? Why does flamestrike do less damage than ebolt most the time and take more mana? You've got to be kidding... you call this BALANCED?
Some people like to be a fighter and hunt without having a disadvantage. That is not possible here. When you've clarified your version of 'Balance', let me know. Because I see no logic to your dispute other than you don't want anything changed except for bards.
