Haven't touched the PS2 / PSX versions.

I will say that it's probably easier to use a computer mouse to set up the world, and you can use whatever image program you're comfortable with to make your own graphics. Not only that, but you can grab tons of pre-made graphics right off of the internet.

I don't see any advantage for the PS2 version over the computer version, as far as actually making an RPG. Haven't played the console versions, though.
