You get rid of a tyrant that hates us and wants us dead and has killed Americans before, then you save lives. You capture him and don't kill him, making him not a myrtar, you save lives. You get a country that has the potential to have a great average income, but is at a great low because of a dictator, then you save lives. There's no reason to help the Iraqies, and save lives, because as you say, there's no reason to be over there.
