Sounds like the drive is fucked. You should just get a new one (or an old one from an old PC that you are pretty sure still works). You can also get a USB floppy for pretty cheep from newegg. Only problem with the usb floppy is you won't be able to boot to it when you need to load windows or flash your bios.
