Somewhere between 6 and 7...bordering the 7 more.

[Random facts about creativity for ya Bob: I assume you know about the brain being two different halves - the cerebal hemispheres? And I assume you know that the nerves from each side cross over at neck level - effectively the right side of the brain is wired to the left side of the brain, and the left side of the brain is wired to the right side of the body? So right-handers use their left side of the brain more, whilst left handers use the right side more.

The left side of the brain is the more logical, sensible and reasonable half. Whereas the right side is basically the artistic side - the creative side if you will. So in essence, this means that left handers are more creative than right handers.

Look back in history at some of the most famous people and you will find this. Scientists, musicians, artists, comedians, sportsmen and -women - many of the best were left handed:
  • Alexander the Great
  • Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach
  • The 700 Benjamites (see The Book of Judges. This seems to be the only place in the Bible were left-handedness is mentioned)
  • Billy the Kid
  • Carol Burnett
  • Lewis Carroll
  • Charlie Chaplin
  • Jimmy Connors
  • Bob Dylan
  • Jimi Hendrix
  • Paul McCartney
  • M. C. Escher
  • Benjamin Franklin
  • Judy Garland
  • Uri Geller
  • Jim Henson (and Kermit the Frog - watch how he plays his banjo)
  • Ben Hogan
  • Jack the Ripper
  • Leonardo Da Vinci
  • Michelangelo Buonarroti
  • Harpo Marx
  • Marilyn Monroe
  • Napoleon Bonaparte
  • Pele
  • The majority of the English Royal Family
The list goes on!

All the above are left-handed. It's rather interesting to note that they are a collection of people who did creative things for a living.

Left-handed people seem to be drawn towards music, science, sports, comedy.

In case you haven't guessed, I'm a lefty...and I think I'm one of, if not the, only lefty on here (you're considered a lefty if you naturally write left-handed. If ambidextrous then you're whatever-handed depending on which hand is your dominant writing hand), and interestingly I'm very musical, love science, am pretty creative...wouldn't say a great funny guy...most people juts laugh out of pity......but that's that.

I haven't the foggiest why I went into all this...just something to do on a cold Friday morning I 'spose.]
