If you really wanted a legal copy, then you can buy Enterbrain's Japenese version and download the language patch - which doesn't work with illegal copies.

whoa whoa whoa wait a minute.. there's a english patch for rmxp?! is there one for rm2k3? is there a way to buy rm2k3 and patch it so that i can have a legal version of rm2k3?
