The idea just struck me in the face: Why not make an option in the menu to access your personal computer? My game takes place in the future, so it wouldn't be awkward for there to be people with handheld computers everywhere, and I think it would be a nice addition to my game.
Using a cursor as a sprite, you could essentially just move it around your desktop screen, and hover over the icons to highlight them, and press enter to access them. Why put this in my game? Well, just think of the possibilities, as you could have the Internet, a paint program, and a music player. Not only could you download files from other's computers, you could hack into security systems to bypass the troubles of taking out every single guard. Because the setting is in a more communistic, fascist, environment, almost all the Internet sites would be gone, except for a news site, multimedia site, etc. When you complete certain things, like destroy a sentry robot, you could plug into him to receive data, pass codes, and the like. But I'm having it so that when you beat the game, you get a string of numbers and letters that when you enter it into an interface beside a locked door in a very important place in the game, you get access to an area where there are tons of items weapons, info, and even a secret character.

My question is, how do you get there to be an input? like, how would you allow the player to type in a series of numbers and letters? Thanks.
