A bowl is going to take longer as it has less surface area than say a jello popsicle. Certain things lower the freezing temperature ...like alcohol can lower it as something with a high alcohol ...which is why my friends keep vodka and stuff in a deep freezer and have no problems with the bottles busting open =P.
