Am I the only one that's going to say the obvious, dark reason? More money. Sure, they don't want to gimp the respective story lines, however, they're probably going to be more profitable off this unless they're selling the respective segments for $10-30. I hope they do sell the segments cheap, then I can buy just one and play the multiplayer game . But I doubt they will, seeing as this strategy is very obvious.
