Well, it's RPG Maker 2003 now.

It does what it says: Lets you create your own RPGs. It has an RPG engine, with battling and everything else. You create the story, worlds, characters, etc. It has graphics and stuff built already for you, in case you don't like drawing anything. Everything's based on "Events" you create. You can, for example, have an event that walks around and has the graphics of an old guy, and when you press the action button to talk to him, he can say "I'm an Old Man! Leave me alone!" or something. Of course, you'll probably want to make your dialog a little more engaging, but.. the events can do lots of stuff, from changing the screen colors to starting a battle, to creating weather effects. Download it and play around a bit..

Yea, theres some really excellent games made with out. I know some final fantasy fan-fictions brought to life with it, too. I really suggest you checking it out.

Here's my favorite RPGs made with RM2k:
A Blurred Line
Legion Saga 2
Legion Saga 3

I'm hoping the guy will make A Line's End soon.. it would suck if it just "ended"

A burred line is great, and same with Legion Saga 2. I haven't played LS3 yet, though...
