Post Omfg I modded my Xbox!

Sick. Today I began the first of my xbox mods. I finally got my preflashed mod chip from online, and got it in my box without much trouble. I've been soldering a lot of chips since the days of Playstation, so I wasn't really worried

I also installed the mod on/off switch for my xbox live purposes. If you don't, I guess they'll recognize you using a mod chip, and terminate your account. Second, I downloaded my new xbox dashboard, evoX. It allows me to rip appz and games to my xbox's harddrive, as well as pretty much do anything on my xbox I would want. But, I can't really do much yet, so I backed up my current hdd onto my computer and got ready for the next step.

Tomorrow, I'll go out and buy a new 80 gigabyte harddrive and replace it with the standard 5 gigabyte, then I'll be jamming. I plan on backing up all my games, my friends games, and a good portion of Blockbuster's and my other local video store's xbox games onto the harddrive.

In conclusion, I wanna say something.

I think I understand what this does.. It lets you rip games off of the computer to your Xbox.

I'm guessing this is kind of like Game file sharing, or am I wrong?

Well, lets see.

I can rip all my games onto my HDD so I don't have to use a disk ever again.

I can use my Xbox as a FTP or Telnet server

I can use the play any media file basically(video, music, image)

I can install Linux

I can use it as a emulator for all my favorite systems

I can use an xbox tunnel without without the use of my computer or gamespy

And did I mention a much bigger hard drive, or a allnew dashboard thats 100x better and customizable?

PLUS I CAN DO MUCH MUCH MORE!!!

Yay for Xbox.

ROFL thats great.. I hope you don't get into any trouble with this, though. But that is pretty funny. I knew Xbox would get modded/hacked sometime soon.

for some reason I dont think 80gb is going to hold as much information as you think it is...

Or will it? How big are x-box games?

Are you kidding me? 80 GB is more than enough..

Just think about it for a second. 8 MB per memory card (PS2) compared to 80 GB per console (Xbox).

Thats for saving games, not storing the entire game for playing........

It'll still probably be enough, though. For right now, that is, since there aren't really that many games on Xbox yet to begin with.

They're about 1.5-3gb each for games. I can probably get about 40 games into it!

Not that I encourage stealing (as in renting and perma-burning), but nice work
