monsters?

ok so i recently gmed fishing which friken rox but it seems that it takes a hell of a long time to pull up a sea monster mainly deep sea serps to the tops of the water on a fishing pole....now i know that mibs are badass and that they should be a lil harder to get.....but shit i have been fishing for the past 6 hours while a buddy was gaining fiching an i only brought up 2 monsters witha fishing pole and he went form 50 fishing to GM!!!! i was wondering if somehting can be done???
