why why why?

do I get god awful download speeds off of programs like kazaa or winmx or imesh or whatever? Im not paying $40 a month to pull 3.00k/s! once, ONCE, I managed a 71k/s and it was lovely. It's not like I lag in anything else, or downloading anything else.....any ideas why, and how I can fix it?

When you use sharing programs you are not downloading from a real webserver, you are downloading from another persons computer.. so if they got 56k then buddy you aint gonna download at normal cable speeds... also if the person you are downloading from is also uploading/downloading stuff that will slow you down too.

I used to do really well on the network on campus, but ResNet started capping the bandwidth and nobody could d/l for shit after that.

its not the people Im downloading off of, cause theyre all listed as cable, dsl, t1, etc....and its not just me downloading, people who try to get from me get even worse speeds, like .5k and crap, even if Im not doing anything
