Why is Tactics for playstation, and for gameboy the most addicting FF games?

Why are these games so frickin addicting, even when the graphics are disgusting compared to Newer ones. Also, the Castlevania: Symphony of the night was a big classic along with both which indeed had horrible graphics. Was it the storyline? Battle System? or item selection? that made them so good.

Personally, while I find tactics fun and interesting, I find FF or FFX much more so.

I find FFXI the most addicting game at the moment. It has so much to it, its hard not to play.

FFT was a really good game, Square did an amazing job with it.

Yeah, I love FFT, but the GBA didn't catch me the same way. I'm waiting for Shining Force for GBA now.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a totally different game. New plot, new characters.

FFTA has a new storyline, but I don't think it's nearly as strong as the story of the first. Basically, it's about this group of kids who read a mystical book and then wake up to find themselves in the medieval fantasy world the book was about. However, they've all been given different, mostly opposing roles.
For instance, the hero Marche has formed a new fighter clan (more like a gang, but legal) and uses his new group to survive in the world and hopefully figure out what's going on.
