Here are some intersting tidbits and updates of what have been going on around the League, for those of you that feel out of touch.

The football stadium, the one that houses the Jaguars, is just a long home run away from where Jeff Samardzija stood in a batter's box last week taking his cuts at batting-practice pitching.

Former Jaguars star Tony Boselli spoke about the importance of fathers protecting their children recently at a Palms Presbyterian Church men's dinner.

This is what we know about the Texans right now.

Few people outside those paid to know knew much about Cary Williams, the Tennessee Titans’ seventh-round pick in the 2008 NFL draft. Fewer knew anything about where he played, tiny Washburn University, a Division II school in Topeka, Kan.

Since drafting Jim Kiick in the fifth round 40 years ago, the Dolphins have had little success with late-round running backs. The new regime of Vice President of Football Operations Bill Parcells and General Manager Jeff Ireland is attempting to buck that trend with sixth-round running backs Jalen Parmele and Lex Hilliard.

Real life intruded for the past three seasons, but fortune brought Justin Wynn to the attention of the Dolphins. The capricious nature of roster life as a rookie free agent -- one of Wynn's Fort Wayne (Ind.) Snider High pals, cornerback Aaron Lane, was waived Monday after getting leapfrogged by mini-camp workout cornerback Scorpio Babers -- means Wynn might be lucky to make it to training camp still on the roster. But that is a long shot Wynn appreciates as a chance to help out his family, the reason for the three-season white space on his football résumé.

Entering the NFL as a first-round draft choice with the Jaguars in 1999, cornerback Fernando Bryant knew all about high expectations. They followed him to Detroit in 2004 after he signed a lucrative free-agent deal. What Bryant has experienced the last six weeks, since joining the Patriots, is something altogether different. He’s flying under the radar.

The Bills will play eight games over five seasons in Toronto; three preseason games and five regular-season games. Fans have the option of buying a three-game package (for the two games this year and the one regular-season game in 2009) or the full eight-game package. Those who buy the eight-game package get a discount. The $295 seats near the corners of the lower deck cost $270 per game for the eight-game package.
