How to load game on a GC via PC and LAN

Quote:

PSO EXPLOIT ALLOWS DATA TO BE SENT TO THE GC USING THE BBA

I'd like to start out by saying that loading any ripped GC images using this method is illegal, and I strongly recommend that it's only used to load homebrewn games and demos. I refuse to answer any questions regarding why "X" game doesn't run smoothly or "Y" doesn't load, please take those questions elsewhere.
GameCube Hardware and Software needed:
· GameCube (obviously)
· Broadband Adapter (any region will do for any GameCube)
· Memory card (for saving network settings)
· RJ45 "Patch Cable" (length of your own choice )
· Phantasy Star Online game.

Please note that a PAL (EURO) PSO game cannot be used to enter network settings on an NTSC (US/JPN) console and vice versa, this is because the PSO game soft resets the gamecube before entering the network setup, resetting your Freeloader/Action Replay boot and causing a "wrong region" screen to appear. So, if you've got a PAL GameCube, make sure you get a PAL Phantasy Star Online game, and if you've got a US GameCube, make sure you get a US (NTSC) version of Phantasy Star Online.

PC Hardware and Software needed:
· PC (obviously)
· Ethernet card

To be able to connect the GameCube to your PC, you have to make sure that a Ethernet card is installed, it most definately is if you've got Cable or DSL internet. Som DSL users may have a hub built into their router, so you can use that to connect to your PC.

· PSUL 1.1 (Gamecube Code Uploader)
· EUR-ACL1.EXE (Animal Crossing Loader 1.1)
· EUR-ACL1.DOL (Animal Crossing Loader GC file)

Your Network setting in Windows has to be changed to (IP) 192.168.1.100 and (SUBMASK) 255.255.255.0 as it's required by the "Animal Crossing Loader" that the PC has this specific address. If you have absolutely no clue of where to change this, you probably should stop reading now and go do something else instead, like read a book on how to do it.

Your Network settings in Phantasy Star Online has to be changed aswell. On the main menu in PSO, choose Options, then Network Option and Provider Option. Choose Network Setup in the Network Setup menu, in Select Network Information Settings you choose Edit. In the Ethernet Settings you have to manually set the IP address, make sure automaticly disconnect isn't set, enter the following:

· IP address: 192.168.1.32
· Submask: 255.255.255.0
· Default router: 192.168.1.100
· Primary DNS: 192.168.1.100

Save and return on the main menu .

On your PC, open a DOS prompt, find your PSUL tool and type in the following "psul -s" which is used to trick PSO into thinking your PC is a PSO server, clever clever...

Now, on the title screen choose online game, PSO will then ask you do create various files (just follow the instructions on the screen). None of the passwords are needed later, so no need to remember what you typed. Once everything is saved you should be returned to the title screen automaticly, from now on just choose online game and your character saved on the memory card and you're ready to go.

Alright, now we're ready for some game (oops I mean demo) business.

On your PC, find the directory with PSUL and EUR-ACL1. First things that has to be loaded is the Animal Crossing Loader V1.1 DOL file, so type in the following:

PSUL EUR-ACL1.DOL

Enter online gaming in Phantasy Star Online, choose your character on the memory card, agree to the disclaimer whatever it is and the file should start sending to the cube, dots should appear in your DOS window.

If everything went correctly a screen saying "Eurasia" should appear on your cube. Now from you DOS window you need to load you game (i mean demo). So type in the following:

EUR-ACL1 NAME-OF-GAME-WOOPS-I-MEAN-DEMO-FILE.GCM

Press START on your GameCube joypad (bootmethod can be changed before you press enter by pressing left or right on the D-Pad, it's up to yourself to find out what they're used for).

Again, if everything works as it should, a lot of nice dots should appear in the DOS window. It may take some time to load, so be patient. Should the screen be filled with X's you need to delay the fransfer a little, which can be done by adding "-dX" (X being a number, like 10) and "-fX" (Again, X being a number), looking something like this:

EUR-ACL1 DEMOGAME.GCM -d10 -f16

This delays every 16 packets by 10ms. If it still doesn't work, mess with the numbers. Please note that you have to start over if you cancel the transfer.

Good luck!

ps: this is an old info, some other loader has been created since, version changed ect...
but this works.
I'm just surprised that I couldn't find that info on this board... Maybe it has been deleted... like this one probly will... :P
