monster idea for dexers

maybe you could make a monster that does damage based on if the person has a weapon skill or not. like it would do tons of damage to people or things that dont have archery/fencing/swords/macing and not that much to those who do. you could make it drop pretty decent loot and then dexers could make more money. drags and wws and pets would get owned by it because they dont have a weapon skill. maybe even give it super high resist if you want. you might be able to find an example of this in savage script because they do tons of damage to pets i think, like 4 hits kills almost, but then on people they dont do as much. what do you guys think?

Or you can wear heavy armor and use a slayer weapon.....

you can also make a tamer in a day too bro... i was just giving a suggestion to give the dexers something to hunt cuz they obviously are mad about not having tamers and are too lazy to make one =/

You can powergame anything in one day, a tamer takes far more effort than a dexer. You have to pay for regs to GM magery, taming takes at least 4 hours to GM. BARDS are what are underpowered here, Tamers are fine, bards need to be better for fighting PvM. I've compared, my tamer killing bloods to my friends bard doing the titan spawn. In the time I made 12k he only made 8k. We estimate that after the titan casting bug is fixed it will be about even. It shoulnd't be even, a bard should be better at PvM than a tamer. My dexer can beat the shit out of lich lords and demons, and I'm sure with a blood drinking weapon he can beat blood eles too. Everything is where it should be except for bards.

Your opinion, and I sadly disagree. You'll never see a group of dexers kill a boss monster, without a form of taming or magery. Some dungeons even have places where you have teleport over to go further. Not to mention the money you spend on reagants is easily earned back just by saving time on the gate spell, when dexers by themselves have to walk from place to place. You can argue that, but if fighters are even as hunters, how come you aren't using your fighter to earn gold instead of your mage? Obviously, even at the cost of reagants.... you can still grab a lot of them from monsters. Everyone knows that. Is it really disputable?

Sadly, on most RUNUO based shards, being a fighter is a huge crutch.
It's a proven fact this shard is geared towards mages and tamers, so I doubt that's going to change anytime soon. I do admit that fighters in PVP are balanced if they come prepared with traps, potions, and poison. But in PVM, because so many monsters are exactly alike, a few skills dominate the whole hunting experience.

I think the key to balance would be to have each type of template specialize against certain monsters. As it is, mages/tamers pretty much RULE any PvM. Dexers can kill monsters, but not real strong ones, and not near as quick as a tamer or mage.

Just give certain monsters magic reflection and/or really high resist.

Also if you want to make dexers more useful in pvm, you could have monsters that turn pets against their owners. Like on Autumn Twilight, the Serpentine Dragon would command my wyrm to attack me. If tamers are less potent, dexers can make a difference.

Another suggestion is to make monsters perform paraylize attacks or cast paraylize spell, which would be frustrating for a running mage.
