Post Is it too late to start playing?

Just a real quick question. My cousin, all his friends, and all the Korean girls in the Bay Area play Counter-Strike (religiously). I'm hella good at Socom (ask Johnny HA!) and I'm sure I can just apply most of my knowledge of Socom to the Counter-Strike world. However I know that hella people cheat, and the game has been out for quit some time. So is it too late to start playing? For example when Phantasy Star Online first came out for the Dreamcast it was great for the first four months. But after that everyone and their mag were using some kind of cheats. I was wondering if the same thing was true about Counter-Strike?

I guess it's good cause you're hooked like a mad man. I remember you were in the Boondock forum talking about it. Depends on the required specs. I could probably play it at school though.

CS is still good to play. You just have to find a server to play on. I use gamespy3d for CS so all I see is my regular servers. X-ploited (216.234.234.97:27015) is a really good server. Be wary though, X has some of the 1337est players around. Also, many servers use antih4x progs, and there is an integrated anticheat program made by valve that I don't know much about. All in all, I say go for it. I'm taking a break from CS for a while with some WC3 tower defense and hero arenas, but I'm sure I'll go back to it in a month or so.

No its never late too play this game.
There are still many new comers.
Yes cheats does exist , but many public servers are using anti-cheat technologi programs.
I've played since ver BETA 6 and i still like the game .

Sounds good. I dunno though. It's going to be very hard to play after all the screen shots of AA that Sum Yung Guy showed me... that game looks f*cking amazing... *drool*

Haha yeah I've heard a lot about them. Mostly due to the fact that my cousin and all his friends are hackers.

Man, I just started playing Counter-Strike this weekend, and it's absolute ownage. It's hella addictive, it really can't be compared to Socom at all though. They're completely different games.
