3. Turn-tables are where the grocery's go at the end of the lane after we scan them. They also look roughly like the image attached. And the rods AREN'T that sharp.
In general, the kid was standing up in the cart
(because his parents were indeed idiots), his older brother was playing around with the cart resulting in the cart tipping over, the kid then proceeded to fall
out of the cart, thusly allowing him to fall into one of the rods on the turn-table, ending in said rod puncturing his eyelid.
