Post Scary insects

Today, a pretty large Hornet decided to pay me a visit, so after throwing it back outside (I don't usually kill insects), I decided to look up insects with a sting or bite of some kind. I managed to find out an insect called "Bullet Ant", which, quite frankly, would be the last thing I would ever want to encounter:

"I originally thought the name "bullet" referred to the fact that the ants are about the size of a rifle bullet, but in fact it refers to the fact that if you're stung, it feels like a bullet going in. Other descriptions included "it feels like being injected with boiling sulferic acid and then twisting the needle for 4 hours" and others equally colorful. Apparently it also hurts for a long time -- 2 to 4 hours or more of intense pain. The reaction varies from person to person, but I never ran into anyone who'd been stung who didn't say it hurt a lot. The ants also have massive jaws so they can also bite like any other type of ant, but unlike fire ants, for example, that spit formic acid into the bite, the bullet ant bites are more like a hard pinch -- and I know that from personal experience."

Does anyone else have any bad experiences with insects? Do share your knowledge.

I hate bugs. The reason why is because my friend had his sixth birthday party and he got stung by a bee. He's allergic and almost died. Scary...

Well, I got stung by a bee, once. I was out in the blueberry field and encounted this little thing...

Also I met this thing named Zelaron on AIM...

Those are unpleasant experiences with insects I had in the past.

I fell in a fire ant hill when I was 7, riding my bike and triped and landed in one. Fire ants sting like hell, don't remember much of it - my mind blocked it out, but i'm fairly sure I couldn't walk and had to be rushed to the hospital.

You should be glad I didn't spit acid all over you and drained all your nutrients and fluids just to have your remains stored in a cocoon. Be nice to me.

Oh hell I didn't even think about spiders. I hate spiders. When I was about.. 9 I think... I was home alone during the summer. Anyway, I stepped on a spider in our hallway. It was a really big, fat spider. When I killed it hundreds of little baby spiders came out of it. I was horrofied. omfg I hate spiders.

I remember once something like that happened to me. Years and years ago, when I was quite young, I was messing around and hit my shoes together... Fucking hella baby spiders came shooting out of one of them, now THAT is horrifying, I was about to put those shoes on.
For years after I would clang my shoes together before putting them on, every single time.

Maybe tonight we'll fly so far away... We'll be lost before the dawn...

Parthenogenesis is such a wonder of nature. You know, when the (hundreds of) insect children engulf their parent from the inside, killing their mother by extracting nutrients from their flesh and fluids, then bursting out in all directions...

It's a good thing for the natural selection and species, although it doesn't sound very nice at first.

I have a terrible fear of just about every insect thats bigger than a fly, although I've never been stung by anything bigger than a fire ant or a mosquito..or a tick.

I guess I'm just a pussy.
