"Super Princess Peach"? Does this mean that now Mario is trapped in a distant castle and it's up to the princess to save him?
Nobody really knows what the story is. It's a 2D platformer starring Peach. The screens actually look pretty good.

Will this merely be the same exact game put onto the new system, or is it a remake/retool with new graphics/etc...?
Whoops, I didn't mean Xenogears. I meant Xenosaga. The Xenosaga series is being moved to the DS after Episode 2. It will probably remain on the DS for one or two episodes and then be moved to another platform. Most likely a next-gen platform.

I can deal with that.

You've got to be fucking kidding. They're not continuing it on PS2? I'm not about to go buying every fucking console system out there to play a series.

When the series was announced, both Namco and Monolith stated that it would take more than a decade to complete and that it would range across multiple consoles. The whole idea was to create a series that transcended the ideas of console-affiliations and boundaries. They aimed to make the most epic videogame story ever created, and you can't really accomplish that if you stick to just one platform.

Now, the announcement that Xenosaga is coming to DS might not necessarily mean that the series is totally moving away from the PS2 just yet. There has been no official clarification as to whether the DS game will be Episode 3, a spin-off title (like Kingdom Hearts: Chain of memories) or a port of Episode 1 or 2.

However, considering that the DS' hardware capabilities simply wouldn't be able to handle the ridiculous amount of CG required to port Episode 1 or 2, the most likely possibility is that we're going to see Episode 3 or a spin-off episode take place on the handheld. Either that, or we may actually get a port of Xenogears, because the DS could certainly handle that.

Either way, you're going to have to buy more hardware to experience the entire saga. Namco and Monolith both stated this a few years ago when the first episode was announced.

Im not shelling out the money just yet, But if a new intallment were to go exlusive with the DS, I'd ne forced to get it.

Despite not so much as finish Xenosaga yet (I have HUGE completion issues), im ready to jump into hell it'self with that series. Fortunately, I don't think things will get that drastic.
