Playstation 3 UNVEILED

They just add all that other shit because they can, because the other guys did, because if they dont then everyone wont think its revolutionary, because it ups the prices.

The real reason that the PS3 has all the other shit is because Sony's goal is not to make a videogame console, but to make an all-inclusive entertainment console. It was their goal with the PS2 but they didn't support the idea as much, now that they have the power of the Cell processor they are making this the main goal with the PS3.

Just to add a rebuttal to the previous post...

As much as I love my PS2 and will buy a PS3, I don't think that the PS3 is going to outsell the Microsoft's powerhouse this round. The XBox really impressed people with its power and it didn't even have that impressive specs. The XBox 360 has very impressive specs and given Microsoft Games's reputation for how the XBox lineup was run you can expect some pretty impressive launch games. That right there makes the XBox 360 more appealing and it will probably outsell the PS3. I'll end up buying both and the Revolution though. If Nintendo fucks up this time though I fear they will be going to way of Sega.

If anything, Xbox360 will outsell PS3 because of the year jump it'll have in stores.

Did you guys see killzone 2 omg that realy impresive. Xbox360 won't win this time.

XBOX360 will have so many more shooters. Although, Killzone itself is really good, Killzone 2 must be godly.

Last I read they didnt know if killzone was ingame footage or not. If it is, very impressive. If it isnt, they need to show some.

I want to see a back and side view of the controller. I think it's not as bad as people say it will be. Surely they've tested the design alot and Sony wouldnt be that stupid to make a controller with which you cant play.

I like the design of the machine itself, the letters remind me of the font they used for the spiderman movies.

No I knew they were real time, just not so much as they weren't like what you see on commercials, it was actual gameplay.

I find it stupid how all these new systems are scaled upwards instead of horizontally. Much too easy to knock down.

All of them can be turned just like the PS2.

I watched the whole conference last night...and the PS3 is bloody amazing!!! The things that have been done for it...for the graphics alone NVidia has patented more than 1500 new technologies!!!

I really don't think that the Xbox will outsell this machine. It may have a year over it, but come Spring, the shops won't be able to keep up with demand.

As Playstation's fanboy it is my right to defend the Playstation. I've read / heard rumors that he PS3 will have a dvd burner built into it, and TiVo like functions (run it through your cable/satellite).

I like the fact that you can hook up your Jump drive to it, theres a free memory card for transfers, and I believe it comes with a 20 gig hd, or maybe you can purchase it.

I agree that the design on the controller is overdone, but I guess they felt it was time for a change. The controller isn't really as big and clunky as it looks in the picture, it's just a little bit larger than the current controllers. (*Gotta put the size ratio into perspective).

The game line-up is all you need to know, (already posted), so that's what you have to choose from. Just go look at the Unreal game and the unreal engine they are going to use.....gonna be friggin' sweet.
