i cant do anythin at all on rm2k3

my help screen on rm2k3 is all weird so i need to no how to make people talk not just walk plz help me

1. Double-click on the event
2. Make sure the event trigger is Action Key
3. Double-click on the right side of the screen by the <> symbol
4. The Event Commands window will pop up
5. Make sure you are on tab 1 of the Event Commands window
6. Click "Message"
7. Type the speech into the box, hit OK
8. You'll see "<>Message: Whatever You Typed" on the right side

Should be easy enough to figure out the whole scripting thing from there, especially obvious stuff such as Enemy Encounter and other event commands
