As much as I'd like to see 'world peace' I surely appreciate those who join our US military. It's just like any other job out there, except you're putting your life on the line to serve your country. Somebody's got to do it I guess, and I sure as hell respect the people who join. Or there'd be a draft. My grandfather (RIP) got drafted during WWII and nearly died around three times. One time a piece of shrapnel would have pierced his heart, but he had a picture of his mother in a glass card that took most of the hit (armor must not have been that good back then), otherwise I wouldn't be here today. After hearing a lot of the stories he told my family (he never wanted to say everything) I knew I probably would never willingly want to join the military, but I'd never disrespect anyone for joining.
