"Sports fanboyism is the most overlooked thing ever. They get tattoos, they buy big screen TVs to watch the game, they travel around the world to watch their teams play, they name their kids after players, and it's TOTALLY acceptable in western society. No one says a thing, hell, people encourage it! They shrug off these eccentricities as just the guy thing to do, 'Oh you guys and your football, heh heh.'"

Some guy on digg said that. I thought it was rather to the point.

The term Fanboy itself is ignorant, it's basically a falsified stereotype. When has it been a bad thing to have passion in something? I'm sure you feel the same way about 'food in general', Grav... You're basically going to throw everybody under the bus because they choose to support a team and help fulfill the communities needs of fans being loyal to their team, grow up.
