Oh God, I just can't help myself.

The only Melee attack that can do more then Scartch him is The Masamune.
And Remember That Sephiroth CANNOT use Masamune once he is transformed !
Just because the sword is called the Masamune, means in no way that it is the same sword. The CT Masamune was a blade of good and righteousness. Forged with the intent of upholding honor. Sephiroth's Masamune is the blade of a fallen hero. It is a sword tempered in betrayal. It is evil, simply by association with Sephiroth. An evil sword would have even less effect than a normal sword, or a heroic sword. Sephiroth's only hope is transforming into his "Bizzarro" or "Savior" forms and then avoiding all magic use. That's not a particularly hopeful situation one way or another.

I know that there are a ton of Sephiroth supporters on this forum. Where are you people? If you want Sephiroth to advance to the next round, get in the game! Otherwise, he's going to continue to be pummeled by Magus.

Well, if Sephiroth gets all those materia and stuff he had when cloud had the flashback and they faught that dragon, he'd kick anyone's ass. But I'm not sure if you count that as his, even though he had it at the time.

Sephiroth wins by a long shot, because you know WHY?! He can just toss his hair, make mincemeat out of poor Magus (by his badass skills and whatnot), and stride off into the beautiful sunset still loooking cool and evil. The END.
Life is short.
Let's all grab a BEER~~~!!!

There is one way i could think that would give sephiroth a chance to win.
But im not gonna support him.
As for now magus will just end up cutting sephiroth head off.

Who will defend this poor failure ?

The one attack that is impossible to dodge.... SUPERNOVA!! It completely incinerates you. The fucking sun blows up in your face! How could this dudes shield withstand that? It couldn't.

Actually if his shield has a different charge (now it has to be ubar strong) then the material being ejected from teh sun, it should be able to deflect the mass being shot at him. The only thing is it would shoot the guy wiht the shield a few million miles away from where he started. So it is possible, probable no.

Its not probable. Its not possible. If you think of it logically, its not possible for Sephiroth to survive the blast either.

His shield can defend against anything except what he's using right? He could wait for Magus to use Shadow magic and then cast Shadow Flare. This attack is really strong. The second most powerful Enemy Skill except for Pandora's Box. It could probably do some serious damage.

Sephiroth's Wall could help protect him against Magus's attacks.

Materia SHOULD be allowed. Sephiroth can only used the materia given to him in the flashback. He can't switch or get new materia.

1st of all the super nova your talking about is cinematic !
So it is FORBIDDEN !

2nd The super nova from seph in game isnt strong.

3rd If the spell used by sephiroth aint the same as type that Magus casted it wont do damage it will HEAL him !

Any materia Sephiroth had access to is usable, but I don't believe Sephiroth was capable of casting Wall at all. If he was, then my memory has betrayed me, but I honestly don't think he had that spell in his repertoire.

As for the "Super Nova" argument, the whole "he can't dodge the attack because it makes the sun explode" deal is bogus. The fact that he was capable of blowing up the exact same group of planets and the exact same star every time negates it's ultra-destructive properties. All it really amounts to is a huge fiery explosion, not a star exploding, therefore, yes Magus could both suvive and escape the blast. It's also not a non-elemental attack, and it takes a ton of time to cast, so Magus could concievably cast a Fire 2 spell before Super Nova had even managed to hit him, thereby allowing him to absorb the damage. But, I digress.

The decisions were made before this post, I just felt like throwing in my two cents. The winner has been decided! Please head to the Bracket Thread for the victory announcement!
