I'm pretty much a PC gamer also. I play gameboy games from time to time on the road and when I can't get on a PC.

Gameboy isn't any fun at all, their games are so low quality, if you wanted to spend 200 bucks and spend 30 on games, get a damn XBOX or PS2.
Yeah, but you can't play XBox in the car, at work, on a plane, in the bathroom, etc.

Plus, portable games exist for the purposes of offering something you don't get on home consoles. Just because most Gameboy games are 2D doesn't mean that they're low-quality. If a game has to be 3D in order to be worthy by your standards, then I suggest you don't start arguing with either me or Bob over the quality of old SNES games. I'll sit down and play 2D Chrono Trigger before I'll even consider sitting down and playing Final Fantasy 10.

So Raziel, say they released the sequel for Castlevania Aria of Sorrow strictly on the PSP. Would you get the PSP along with the DS? Or just stick with the DS?

Well, there's already a new Castlevania game in development solely for the DS, so that question doesn't make much sense to me. I guess the best answer that I could give you is that it would take a lot more than just a new Castlevania game to make me want to buy a PSP. I already own a PS2. I don't really need a portable one.

I intend to pick up a DS no matter what. It offers gaming possibilities that you simply can't get on another handheld or on any home console. I might pick up a PSP if they release a couple of truly awesome exclusive games on it, but I've already gone into detail several times as to why that's not entirely likely.

And just to reiterate for everyone in this thread, the DS will not cost $200. Walmart will most likely predict an MSRP of $400 for the PSP, and that's not going to happen either. That's a placeholder price, not the announced MSRP. Nintendo hasn't even announced the MSRP, and they've bluntly stated that Walmart's estimate is not official. The real starting price will be announced before November, and it will be substantially less than $200.
