I always thought it would be sweet if they could do something of that nature. I don't think they have tried anything like it. If you dont know what Super Smash Brothers is, it is a nintendo game where they throw all the "best" heroes together from their games (the ones they own) and turn it into a fighting game. It is great fun, but I wanted to know what you guys think would work for this... please give some good ideas, like a character,(hero or villain) what items/ level that could go with em, and perhaps some moves that they would have...

Some items that i think could drop during the game are:
Potion: heal you of course
X/Hi Potionl: better healing

Ouch, i gtg right now! I will post alot more ideas later...
nothing like this has been done has it?

The majority of the the cast from FF6 would be great in a game like that. Sabin, Cyan and Edgar in particular. Edgar could whip out his chainsaw and start hacking away, while Sabin throws an Aura Bolt across the screen. It would be awesome.

Yeah, I agree, but there would probably need to be more roundness than that, even from the dreaded (IMHO) FF10...

You didn't like him because of blitz?

Anyhow, ya, Sabin would be the best suited, because his moves are already similar to a standard 2d fighting game.

They tried to do this before with a game called Ehrgeiz(sp?). It was a complete flop. But I'm sure if they made one with the same style as SSB, it would be great.

That was when I played D2. No, that was when i was addicted to D2. That was months ago. And if you read this thread except for the part where i made fun of you, the " EUxxxx" game, which is called Ehrgeiz, is what me and K_A were talking about.

Ehrgeiz was awsome, not only did it have an arcade mode where you fight people 1v1, but it also had that story mode where you went through dungeons and stuff.

OK! lets not turn this into a flame war, i seriously wanna develop this... I remember Ehrgeiz, I always passed it up at Blockbuster as a kid because the case looked kinda goofy
but I just wasn't sure if it was like SSB or more like Tekken (a pimpin game)/ Streetfighter

It was a tekken/street fighter. Not a SSB.

And nobody flamed anyone(except for uncapped saying that the game blows more than taco.)

It would be illegal for us to make a game with square's characters, unless we had their permission, and we won't get it.

I wasn't flaming, I was just making a statement. But anyways, I don't think this thread needs a sticky. Maybe a little more contributions from other people would change my mind.

I just thought a sticky would help more people contribute, tommorow morning i am gonna work out some stuff from FF8, 9, and 7 chars. Then maybe some old school FF gamers could contribute...

I am surprised Kuja's #1 hasn't graced us with his genius yet in this thread. Savor the moment....

But seriously, he seems to know a lot about 7,8, & 9. I am sure he could actually help!

I don't see the point. It's like you wanna totally plan out a game that will never get made, and if it ever were made, Square would do their own thing.
