Hello, I used to use a not-entirely-non-illegal copy of XP a while back, and I recently had renewed interest in the program. To my surprise, it said that my 30 day trial was up and I needed to buy and register the software.
Now, I'm pretty sure that I didn't download the official trial version, and I'm also fairly certain that I used it for more than 30 days when I first got it. Did Enterbrain somehow take control over all the illegally distributed copies of RPG Maker XP?
no, my problem is that I downloaded what appeared to be the pirated version, which worked perfectly fine for months. Then recently I booted it up again and now it wants an activation code.
Odd, I was thinking that maybe it auto-downloaded a patch or something, but 1) I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist in RMXP and 2) I think the last patch was in 2005 somewhere.
...Unless you patched it yourself, of course.
Obviously, there's always the option of a standard uninstall/reinstall.
I've considered being a translator, but I dunno. It feels like a lot of work. If someone gets angry then I have to deal with it, you know? I'd rather just relax.
