Ok, these is my problems: I never study til the day or TWO before my exams/quizs. I never do my Homework til the day or TWO before it due, in result all my grades are either B's and worst come worst C's. My time manage skill is a disaster, this is my freshman year, now it's last two week of school left, i want to see if I can bump the grades up some with final exams, so anyone have any advises I can hear?

Try studying and doing your homework more than a day or TWO before it is due.

For once I must agree with KA. I'm in high school and i have the same problem, and it's hard enough 2 keep up with in hs. I'm sure college must be a lot harder so i guess just study beforehand.

Type your notes and then go through them a few times a day, and don't neglect things you "assume" you already know all about.

Get into a study group, and have a regular study schedule with them. Try to teach the material to others, it will actually help you to understand it more. (Depends on the subject...)

Right, and the keywords with Senesia's entire post was, "Depends on the subject." Basically, I've found that as long as you study a little each day and keep up with understanding the material covered in homework, you are fine.

I too have two weeks left, and next week being finals week. I'm already freaking out because I'm pissed I didn't start studying over Thanksgiving Break, but hey, it was Thanks-fucking-giving Break! I was doing work basically ALL day today, and I'll continue this trend until the weekend. I do two subjects a day, go through all the chapters, their examples, make detailed notes in a rough copy form, redo them very nicely, and basically keep myself extremely organized. Go over old quizzes, redo all your homework assignments, and go over extra problems that are similar to the ones you were having trouble with. If you must, copy your old work first, step by step, break down how it was done so it makes sense, then redo it again by yourself.

Also, I can't emphasize how correct Senesia is with study groups. The best thing I did my freshman year was making two separate groups of friends. One that I basically party with, get hammered, cruise for babes, etc. and one that I am serious around and do some intense studying. Meet up at least 3-4 times a week just to review and help each other out.

Time management is definitely something you must get better at too. I was very bad as well at first. I was a huge procrastinator, but now, I do shit way in advance and basically perfect as the due date gets closer. I don't know what else to say really. To be a good student, takes a LOT of hard work and dedication.

The only subject i have a lot of difficulty with is Math. A lot of the stuff is common sense built on top of harder concepts -.- Math is also the hardest subject to study for.... Second worst subject to study for (For me) is a second language, orally, unless you have a study partner. 99% of my studying is by myself so it makes it harder.

Go to the library, find people from your classes that are studying, and ask them a few questions you are having about homework or certain concepts. It will get to the point where both themselves and you will agree that it is just easier if you sat next to them and studied together. Get a few Cell numbers then meet up the next time they study. Its not that hard, unless you have a difficult time meeting people that is.

I don't goto college, I learn better on my own (I'm a wierdo, go me) so I doubt I'd be of any help. But yeah studying sounds like a good idea. My sis does great at college, she works like crazy.

Assuming you took good notes, best thing to do is study them ASAP and as much as possible. Even if you think you memorized the entire thing, keep studying. Also, if you really need help, ask one of your class buddies to help you study. Dont forget to thank them after and dont pick ones that are in the same position as you =P.

first question in your mind should be, how long CAN you stay in college? and how long do you WANT to stay.

if you say, "oh i want to just stay for another 6 months and start work in mcdonalds, then there is no use of staying any longer
if, for example you want to be a "doctor" you have to go to college for a minimum of 10 years!!!! thats 10 years of hard studying. if you are up to it, make sure every study group you go to, is well worth it!!

if you dont want to do that and want to end up like the rest or the 90 percent in this country, stop college NOW, you save money and time!!,

That's awkward. You can become a doctor here after five years of college, but it's exceptionally hard to get into the doctorate schools. Mess up one single highschool grade (in one of the 32-36 classes we take here), and chances are very certain that someone else with better grades than you will steal your spot. There aren't any multiple choice tests or easy way to get good grades at all either, and the final tests only work as a suppliment to your current grades in most cases.

Anyway, studying in advance is a good thing. In fact, if you could somehow get past the thinking of "homework", you'd most definitely do good. Getting to a point where homework isn't "oh fuck, not MORE", but rather "yay, finally something to do, I LOVE studying the string theory in depth" would most definitely get you good grades. And no, you can't force yourself to like it, just try to find a reason for learning it rather than only trying to do well on tests.

I have worse problems than you.Yesterday I did all my work that was due today even though I was assigned all my work about 3 weeks ago.I am at a community college that is only an hour away if you walk and there is only one library but millions of bathrooms so if you have to go to the bathroom here, chances are there is a bathroom in the building you are in.

yeah, over here you have to be the best (or at least hang around with one) but im telling you, its not worth TRYING to get on top if you know you will end up back to the bottom with the rest of us!!! one time when i was a manager for some video place, i was telling someone what to do...and he had a masters degree and was a respectable teacher in one of the famous schools here....AND I WAS ORDERING HIM AROUND !!!!

the only way to get up on life, is by connections!!
ps i dont see why misspelled words have to be applies here at ZEL. >_<

I don't think J_iceman should be giving advice on giving up and not trying anymore. That is just not the right attitude that will get you through life. Work hard, do your best, and you will accomplish amazing feats.
