Its all a matter of opinion. Basically, if it is in their sig, its fine. If some newbie came, and started posting ad's for his/her site all over the boards, he/she would be banned. If it is a distinguished, regular member, and no profit would be made from it, we generally let it go.
Swedish owner, Swedish rules. Common sense is a part of the legal system over here. The rules are to be used as guidelines, to avoid that they will be used for stupid discriminations like this. Of course, if the moderator abuses the rules instead, he/she will be punished for it. And furthermore, well put Jamesadin.

I don't pay for the site...If I had a platnum site then I'd have to pay...and thanks for the advice on the site...I'm trying to keep it a little plain though.

There's no rule against advertising using your sig. This was brought to general attention a long time ago. Several of us had immortality-ring links, no banners, as sigs for a while, and it was accepted for the sheer reason that it isn't against any rule.
I'm getting tired of this bullshit just like the rest of you... By the way, I have an announcement... I guess I'll make a thread for it.
