Velvet Revolver and Black Sabbath

VR is a new band made up of older dudes from Guns N Roses and the Stone Temple Pilots and some random guy. They kick ass, check out "Slither" especially.

Black Sabbath, as everyone should know, started the genre that most people call Heavy Metal, and they kick ass. Front man Ozzy Osbourne (now old and crippledish from drugs) had the most bad ass metal voice of all time... God I love them.

But really, check out Velvet Revolver especially, I was just mentioning Black Sabbath for no apparent reason other than the fact that they are really fucking cool.

Black Sabbath is at Ozzfest this year, I really wish I had the cash to go and check it out. Just them alone would be worth the money. I have a friend that went and said most of the new bands sucked incomprehensible amounts of ass though.

I saw Sabbath at Ozzfest 2001, and then Ozzy headlined solo in 2002. For an old guy who can barely walk, he sure manages to kick a lot of ass onstage.

I'm not sure what I think of VR, though. I picked up the CD, and while it's certainly good, something just doesn't feel right about it. Weiland's vocals just don't strike me as being 100% suited to Slash's guitar. I think VR would have been much better off enlisting the vocal talent of Sebastian Bach, because Bach kicks unholy amounts of ass.

Wow, I had never thought about that. If they got Bach instead of Weiland, that would be major kick ass. I still like Weiland a hell of a lot though. In my book, Slash's guitar goes with anything.
