ive done this arguement so many times, cliff notes version:
smite is a melee hit - FACT (apply the definition)
smite is a CHEAP* melee hit - FACT

*cheap - a dirty hit that is unblockable with the exception of zon passive skills and asn's weapon block skill

We all know what the textbook definition of Melee is, but in spirit, it's something else.

no, i believe that ppl say smite isnt melee is cuz they just dont like being cheap shoted, its like some one sucker punching your really fast. No one would like to be ambushed (well... most ppl)

Technically it's short ranged attacks, while holding a wepon, right? A shield can be used as a weapon, and cs is also meele. While hammerdin the pally is throwing them and they spin, therefourth, not meele.
