Sound like fun...another series to go on my list...another couple of months of reading...
Anyone read Robin Hobb's ones about Fitz out of interest?? There's...9 I think in three trilogies. First lot something to do with Assassins in title, second to do with fools and third to do with ships??
There was a trilogy I read in 8th grade that I really, really loved, but I can't remember the name, the author, or the names of any of the characters.
The books were centered around a couple small groups of people that fought in and led a war. They were fantasy books, and the setting was pre-modern, but it wasn't Earth. The organizations in the books had an Italian mob sort of feel.
The only complete memory I have from the books is that one of the characters gets knocked out and wakes up in a sewer in a city.
Anybody have any idea what these books might have been?

Maybe it was the trilogy by George R. R. Martin? A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, and A Storm of Swords.
I just bought A Clash of Kings earlier today because this friggin' author rocks. I used to read a lot of fantasy books when I was younger and I just recently picked up this series. I reccommend it to everyone who likes fantasy at all. 10/10.
:-\ I read the reviews of those books. The setting is definately similar, but they're not the same books. Anybody else? I know it's a reach, but I'd really like to be able to find these books again.
---------------
I just emailed my Jr. High. I asked if I could come and look through the library in hopes of finding the books. *crosses fingers*
They probably won't get back to me until fking fall, but I guess we'll find out.

Yeah, the White Mountain series was pretty good; just don't make the mistake of picking up the prequel (When the Tripods Came or somesuch), because it's a snore fest.
