That's what black-metal bands do, and the names almost always sound like shit. "Borknagar", "Naglfar", "Abigar", "Vadaath", etc. They all sound so ridiculous.

I guarantee that every one of those is already used. Unless you start looking for more mundane words like "Foot" and "Car", using a single word usually doesn't pan out as a band name. Two or three words isn't over the top. Excessively long band names are real ones like "Day Of Deadwater Drowning", "From A Second-Story Window" or "Through The Eyes Of The Dead". "Bastard Machine" (which, by the way, does not share a word with the title "Deus Engine") is by no means too long a title. It's not a great name, but it's in no way too long.
