Why do British people say "arse" instead of ass? It sounds like you're trying to get past a naughty word filter or trying not to offend anyone, like saying sh!t instead of shit. Arse sounds stupid. Ass sounds bold and refreshing!

Over here "arse" is the bad word...ass is just something you say when trying to sound stupid.
