i tried trillian before, i dunno... didn't care for it too much. i just like simple AIM, i guess im going to just have to download these and try em out http://www.purevolume.com/mason

I know trillian has already been mentioned, and you don't want to use a seperate program altogether, but gaim is another great alternative.
