That was done by the animation studio because the anime and manga (comic) were being made at the same time. If they didn't extend scenes, the anime would have passed by the actual storyline, which causes filler, fake bullshit fanfiction crap like DBGT. Filler is NEVER a better alternative to extending fight scenes.

lol its ok if the fight scene is maybe 2-4 episodes but remeber when goku faught the one purple guy i forget his name and that lasted like 20 FREEKIN episodes but thats just my opinion so

I think it is actaully 'gay'. not just saying that it is stupid or anything I think they are all gay. When I found out about homosexauls back in the day, It ruined the whole "my abs are more obtrusive than yous!" and turned it into "OH GOKU! OH! OH! MORE!MOOOOOOOOOOOORE!"
