This is only my third time hearing about this. One was from a discovery chan show where Orange County Choppers were building an Eragon themed bike. THe other from an old manager/friend of mine, and the third being here.

The manager said it's going to suck.

Most people will see it, think "Blimey, that's a big 'un", see the type of language used, and be instantly put off.

I think the last time I read the whole trilogy was the day I went to see Return of the King.

I saw the movie first and tried reading the book, but was like...I've already experienced this a million times in the multiple times I've seen the movie...Why am I sitting here reading it?

I got through a chapter or two and gave up in the fellowship

Because the books are much, much better. Reading (in this context at least) is about entertainment. It's a sad day when people start to write off books altogether because the "same" story is available in movie-form.

It's gotta be a damn good book for me to read it over watching it in movie form. I'm one who needs hard copy visuals to really enjoy the story.
