"Sports fanboyism is the most overlooked thing ever. They get tattoos, they buy big screen TVs to watch the game, they travel around the world to watch their teams play, they name their kids after players, and it's TOTALLY acceptable in western society. No one says a thing, hell, people encourage it! They shrug off these eccentricities as just the guy thing to do, 'Oh you guys and your football, heh heh.'" Some guy on digg said that. I thought it was rather to the point.
