There's a plethora of reasons for you to purchase one. It's got some of the best games currently on the market, it costs 100 bucks, it's an extremely durable piece of hardware (I'd estimate that I've played somewhere between 700 and 900 hours on the machine) and it has the bar none best multiplayer titles you can find.
And before anybody starts screaming "Halo" at me, that's one game the XBox has. And regardless of how entertaining that game is (I actually played it for an hour or two a week ago, and it is pretty damned fun), it provides nowhere near the level of multiplayer amusement that Super Smash Bros. Melee or Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles can provide.
Robo, I honestly have no idea why you're still "thinking" about picking a Gamecube up. You should already own one and be knee-deep in Mario games by now.
I was going to get it for, Zelda, Animal Crossing, SSB:M, Twin Snakes, Soul Caliber II(Come on, Heihachi sucks), Metroid Prime... yeah... I'm getting one definately. My PS2 has had Legacy of Kain: Defiance in it for two days without me playing it once. Raziel levels make me lust after Kain levels. Mmm blood.
The Raziel levels get much better. Admittedly, they're not as fun as the Kain levels for about the first half of the game.
Either way, though, a Gamecube is definitely worth every penny. Especially for the selection of games you listed there. I actually really need to pick up SC2 pretty soon. I was never tremendously jazzed about it until I sat at a friend's house last weekend playing through Weapons Master mode as Link for about 5 hours. And yeah, Heihachi does suck. The PS2 crowd should have gotten either Solid Snake or Dante. Personally, I think Dante would have been the better choice.
Animal crossing is cool, but some of the games on gamecube have limited capabailities lengthwise. Also you cant have the option of DVDs or music. Which ups the cost for most things. So basically your paying more if you want to get the same features of an Xbox or PS2. So there is one big dillema due to the Gamecube. It still is a good system tho.
DEATH COMES IN MANY WAYS... Mine deals with Donuts!

I don't understand what you are trying to say. Are you saying the GameCube is lacking because it doesn't have useless features or are you saying it's bad because it's cheaper?
