need help

i used to have a cd-writer and a cd drive but i have removed the cd drive and put in a dvd drive. Now i put the computer on and it is not recognising any of the drivers? WHAT should i do???

First things first, make sure that the DVD drive is set up to coexist with the other drive on the same cable (the master/slave jumpers need to be set right); if that doesn't fix it, then hit [windows]+[break] to bring up your system properties panel. Depending on your Windows version, choose the device manager tab, or the hardware tab and then device manager. Go through device manager, and remove the CD drivers, then hit okay, and click yes to restart. Hopefully, windows will now recognise the correct HW.
