Evil Grin I need some quick help.

I'm new here and I would like to ask a few questions of the good people here.
I got RPG maker XP a few days ago and I've started making my game, but I'm having a distinctly annoying problem. I was wondering how to execute another event after the current event is over. In my intro after a certain person is talking I wanted another person to "Get up off of the floor", but I'm afraid that I don't see a command that's similar to the "Call event" command on RPG maker 2003. This might be a stupid question, but I am really dead-set on making this game! Please, anyone that could, answer my query?!

As you've only been doing it a couple of days, you won't lose much if you swap to RM2K3 - solely for the reason that you can do the things in it that you can't in RMXP.

Otherwise, you could have the first event end with turning a switch on, whilst the second switch (as a parallel process) contains a conditional branch that has the main event in the "If:" branch - if switch[0001] = ON.

Thank you muchly! That was quite aggravating. I would switch back to RM2K3, but It lacks certain tools that I need to complete this game in my head.

Fair enough.

Fun with switches it is then.

The problem you'll start finding with RMXP then, is that it will lack some tools that RM2K3 has. But if you can script, you'll be larfing.

Can you script?

Well, I can't script yet, but I'm going to learn how. It'll be difficult, but I can't give up on XP yet...

If you can learn how to script in RMXP, then you can become our Resident RMXP scripter.

Good luck with it. We'll visit you in hospital if it goes wrong.

of course if we couldnt read, then we wouldnt understand anything of this site at all, much less be able to understand that we need to learn how to read first.... eventually we would come to the same conclusion though.. kind of like if someone had earplugs in.. it would be like this:

person w/out plugs: "hey, you need to take the plugs out of your ears so
i can tell you something."
person w/ plugs: "sorry, can't hear ya.. ive got plugs in my ears."
person w/out plugs: "THEN TAKE THEM OUT YOU IDIOT!!!"
person w/ plugs: "like i said, i have earplugs in my ears, i cant hear ya!"

Hehehe!! Please tell emy ou've read Catch-22! And Orr with his balls in his hands and his cheeks.

If someone asks him why he's got balls in his cheeks, he tells them that he hasn't and that they're actually in his hands. If they ask him why he's got balls in his hands, he tells them he hasn't and that they're actually in his cheeks.

Great book.
