And the source that said the PS3 has been outselling the 360 for four weeks was the NPD Group figures. A bit more reputable than an internet site, methinks.

Yes, it does have a lot to catch up. And Sony have put a plan on the table to have shipped another 11 million consoles by the end of their fiscal year.

And to be quite honest, I can seriously see them doing that, what with Killzone 2 and MGS4 coming out in Q1 '08, let alone the flood of games from September to Christmas.

EDIT: Our sources are about different things - the NPD Group figures are for hardware sales, whilst VGChartz is software sales, I think.
